July 7, 2010 was the day I left St. Cloud for Canada. The day was clear; a little chilly but clear. I awoke, early 5 a.m. to be exact. I took my usually morning shower got dressed and sat down at the kitchen table and ate some breakfast. Then my sister woke up and did the same.
We lugged our luggage to the Roosevelt Boys and Girls Club and waited with the rest of the new and former campers for the bus. There were people who had as little as two bags, a duffle and a backpack, to as much four bags, two duffels and two backpacks. I packed my medium sized navy blue duffle bag, a black backpack, sleeping bag, and a fishing pole.
I had forgotten my spending money at home, so I used one of the staff’s phones to call my mother. I asked her if she could bring my money to the Roosevelt Boys and Girls Club where I was waiting for the bus. She said she would bring the money.
After my mother had brought my money I was waiting, talking to my friends when I saw the bus approaching out of the corner of my eye. I stood up (as did most others) gathered my stuff and waited for it to pull in to the parking lot As it pulled in you could hear the rumble of the motor and as it stopped, the screeching of the breaks. By now everyone had noticed the bus and was ready to board. I put my stuff in the compartments with the other luggage and boarded the bus.
As i made my way to the back of the bus i looked around. The bus was a coach bus with TVs for watching movies and comfortable seats. I sat by myself regretting that I left my iPod at home. I laid out my Sobe life water and licorice on the seat next to mine waiting for the bust to start driving away leading us closer and closer to our destination
That was the embarking on my journey to Canada and to the experiences that waited.
Good job being really descriptive!
ReplyDeleteThat was really good. I liked how you discribed the luggage!!:) You maybe could have talked more about the actual trip to Canada.
ReplyDeleteI like how you described the bus coming around the corner, but the story leaves me wanting more information.
ReplyDeleteYou should say why you got to go to Canada. I liked it thought. You discribe some fun things.
ReplyDeleteThat was really good. Just remember to capital your I's. I think the next memoir you should type about you in Canada. I've always wanted to go there.
